looking at photographing Martina from different angles. highlighting the red tones in her hair. this is my first shoot with Martina and so i was testing out some ideas.

2. Similarly with previous shoot, with Andrea. The chair is
distracting from the subject. This image is perhaps slightly
too dark, needs more light! |
 |
3. This is one of my favourite images from the shoot. Like the
work of Pyke, this image is very invasive of martina's personal
space. There is no hiding from the subject and her blue eyes
are shown vividly against her gorgeous ginger hair. |
 |
4. Similar to above image. However i feel that the above image
is stronger as shows a more personal connection between the
viewer and the subject. In both the above image and this one
i think that the background needs to be white! |
 |
5. I am particularly fond of this particular image. I think that
the light balance works well here, however i would say that
unfortunately it does not showcase her hair colour particularly
successfully. |
 |
6. Too dark! |
 |
7. This is an approach i have never tried. Showing only part
of the subjects face. Again i feel would work better with a plain
white backdrop. The framing i feel works as leaves you open
to consider what she looks like, however concentrates on her
amazing hair colour. Which is ultimately where the focus should be |
 |
8. Hiding her identity. Should be more lit and general feedback
from tutors is that it is better to show part of the face at least |
 |
9. this particular image is too dark. However if it was lit better
i feel that this would be a good composition to consider |
 |
10. Again, similarly to above image. needs to be better lit. I like
how the eyes are in darkness. You can tell a lot by looking into
someones eyes and having these in darkness means the viewer
wont have this interaction and focus is on lips and her hair. |

What do these images tell me about the subject?
Natural beauty. perhaps more interested and attracted to the images because of her beauty rather than because of the photography skill involved.
Why should the viewer care about these images ( this stranger?)
from looking at these i don't think the viewer should! perhaps apart from image. 3. This image has a connection between the sitter and the viewer. You look deep into her stunning blue eyes. Its almost as if she is about to ask you a question.
Need to continue shooting and experimenting as these questions seem hard to answer!
